He gave a shrugged, “Sure, why not?” he agreed.

Taking a deep breath, she opened the door, the bell chimed as if it was cheering them on. The rain fell in huge drops on them. Panting, she felt exhilarated; she was sure the combination of the run and wine, compared to earlier in the day she really could careless now about being in the rain as she watched him fumble with the keys. Finally finding the right key, he unlocked the car and both got into the car.

“Sorry about that.” Jim said, slightly out of breath.
“Don’t worry about it. I have to admit, that was actually a little fun.” She smiled at him, while leaning towards him getting ready to buckle herself in. That’s when she caught his eye, she felt overwhelmed by the power that was behind his blue eyes.

“I have to agree.” He managed.

Then before she could stop herself, she leaned in further, letting go of her seat belt. She laid a hand on his cheek; taking a breath, she kissed him full on the mouth. His moustache tickled her upper lip, she breathed in his scent. It was a mixture of his aftershave and him, she determined. Her heart sped up, as the butterflies that had been flapping in her stomach, it made her feel dizzy, in a good way. Vaguely, she could feel his surprise, that’s when she broke off the kiss, realizing what she had just done.

“I’m so sorry,” She managed to mumble out. Bowing her head, she let her hand fall to the armrest, looking down she didn't see it.

“Don’t be.” She couldn’t believe what she had just heard. He couldn’t have said that.
She felt him gently pull her chin up; she still couldn’t look at him. Shock filled her when she felt his lips brush ever so lightly over hers. It sent tingles of pleasure through her face. For a moment, their eyes met then she closed hers. When his lips came back in contact with her, they were doing more than just grazing hers. She let her instincts take over as she began to kiss him back. Soon, she realized that she was in his arms, placed her arms about his throat. She allowed her hands to course a path through his thick brown hair it was feather soft. Her dizziness increased, when she parted her lips for a breath, she felt the intimacy of their kiss increase. Their tongues did an elaborate dance when they met each other. Alls she could think was that he tasted like a mixture of the exquisite food they had just eaten and something darker more mysterious and very masculine. She loved it, far more than even the desert they had shared. He tightened his grasp around her waist, it so wonderful to be in his arms. Kissing him was far better than she could have ever imagined. She wondered if he could feel her racing heart.

Then her phone started buzzing to life in her purse. She could feel his shoulders slump. The kiss lessened in its intensity, she did want it to end, and it felt too good. A breath later, he broke it off. “I better let you answer that. She said against her lips.

“I don’t want to.” She was already fishing it out she could feel his grasp around her waist was lessening. She flipped it open when she saw who it was. Besides, taking my free time away he has to interrupt this, she mused grumpily.

“Hi, Carl." She said as cheerily as possible. “I’m ok. MmmmHmmm MmmmmHmmm.” Finally able to look at Jim, she gave him a smile. She was already missing the feeling being so close to him. “On my wait out the door, I ran into Sergeant Gordon.” As she said this, he put the key into the ignition. “Him and I started talking about the case.” She paused, listening to him. Like Loeb, he tended to ramble, especially on the phone. She couldn’t help but roll her eyes, at that she noticed Jim take on an amused expression. “Yes, I’ll be back at the office soon. MmmmHmmm. MmmmHmmm. Ok, see you soon. Bye.” She flipped her phone closed. “He can be long winded on the phone.” Jim then started the engine.

She didn’t know what to say after that. She scrutinized Jim’s profile as he looked out the windshield; she had never noticed how dynamic it was. How she wanted to trace it with a finger but she resisted the urge. She bit her bottom lip, wishing she knew what he was thinking, as he looked at the falling rain. Carefully she laid a hand on his arm. He looked over at her. “I better get you back; I don’t want Finch to be upset with you.” He finally said.

“I…umm.” She tried to articulate but the words were stuck in her mouth. As she tried to find the right words, he brought her hand to his lips. He kissed her softly; his moustache tickled the top of her hand. She tried to suppress the giggle it caused but she was unsuccessful, he looked over the top of her hand and smile, “What’s so funny?”

“Your moustache is tickling my hand,” She giggled again as he deliberately brushed it over her hand, while holding it gently.

“That was wonderful, a moment ago.” He finally said.

“Yes, it was.” She could not say anything further than that.

Then he placed her hand on the armrest, rather hesitant he then put his hand on the steering wheel. Glancing behind them, he made a fast u-turn, and then they were on their way back to the DA’s office. The rest of the ride was in silence but she would catch him glancing over at him. Occasionally, they would make eye contact and share a smile.

“I don’t want to go up there,” She finally said when they were back in the parking garage. “Is there anything I should know in case he grills me on our discussion of the case?” She couldn’t help but smile when she said the word discussion.

“Just tell him, that you feel that you there is finally a solid case against Maroni.”

“Ok.” She sighed, wanting to say more and desperately wanting to see him again. She just didn’t know what to say or where even to start. Nervousness prickled the back of her neck as she looked past him.

“Would you like to get together for coffee before heading into the office?” He asked running his finger along the edge of the visor before glancing over at her.

“That would be great.” Impulsively she leaned in and hugged him. It felt nice to feel him so close again. Pulling back only slightly, she gazed up at him. “It was so nice having dinner with you.” She gave him a quick peck on the cheek.

“Have a good night.” He paused, “Don’t let Finch boss you around too much.”
“I won’t, see you same place outside around 8:30?”

“I’ll meet you outside the door this time.”

“Sounds good to me.”
With that, she grabbed her purse and opened her door. “Have a good night as well.” She got out giving him a final smile, she walked the few short steps to the elevator, she was relieved when the doors opened. She always despised having to wait for it, especially in the garage. As she started to walk in, she looked over her shoulder to watch him drive away.

After pushing the button for her floor, she slumped against the wall. I can’t believe it, wow, she exclaimed to herself. She hugged herself and twirled across the elevator. His eyes, those lips oh wow, she rocked on her heals. Mmm, he is so fantastic. When the doors opened, she gave a small hop. She stopped short of the turn that curved out to her desk. Knowing that Finch would be pacing from his desk to hers and back again. He always did that before a big case. Taking a deep breath, she tried to calm the flapping in her stomach.
